Hey, I’m Nicole
For the past two decades, I’ve been doing the work that sets my soul on fire, blending education, social justice, and artistry to create spaces where everyone belongs. I’ve spent 20 years in education, pouring my energy into enriching the lives of students, educators, and families—especially in communities that have been historically overlooked. My work is rooted in equity, humanity, and holistic well-being, and I’m passionate about championing social-emotional learning and liberatory education.
But here’s the thing: my vision goes way beyond traditional classrooms. I’m here to help create inclusive spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued—because that’s where true transformation happens.
Writing Is My Love Language
Beyond the educator title, writing is where I find my peace. It’s how I process this beautiful, complicated world, and how I connect with others chasing dreams of their own. There’s nothing more fulfilling than that.
I’m also the founder of Black Rewrite, a platform born from necessity and love. We amplify and celebrate the narratives of Black and Brown authors because our stories matter. Our voices deserve space. The systematic erasure of our experiences from literature? That ends here. We’re reclaiming our stories, one book at a time.
My Joy Looks Like…
You’ll find me catching the latest films, traveling the globe (with a special piece of my heart forever in Barbados, my native home), or experimenting in the kitchen, always adding my signature Caribbean flair. Because life’s too short for bland food and unexplored places.
My Latest Work
In Not Just Words: Writing as Liberation, I poured everything I believe about self-expression into the page. It’s my invitation for you to write your way into freedom to embark on a journey of healing, truth-telling, and dream-building. Because your story? It matters.
Credentials
I hold a B.A. in Journalism from CUNY and a Master’s in International Education from NYU. These days, I call Brooklyn home, where the energy matches my own.
Let’s connect, collaborate, and create something that leaves a mark.
